Syria's first hackerspace

Founded in Damascus in 2010 after the SAMA Lab proposal, Aiki Lab was the Arab world's first hackerspace. Bassel hosted Mozilla cofounder Mitchell Baker and open-source leaders there before security forces closed the space in 2011.
